SLS Langara Fishing Derby 2009

For a truly fantastic fishing experience in the ruggedly beautiful Queen Charlotte Islands, please join the 14th Annual SLS/Langara Lodge Fishing Derby. This year’s trip runs from July 14th - July 18th, 2009. The derby was initially started in memory of former Shawnigan teacher, coach and mentor Derek Hyde-Lay. Langara Lodge still contributes $200 per SLS guest to the Derek Hyde-Lay Scholarship endowment.

As an added bonus this year, two long-time Shawnigan “celebrities” are joining the crew: Graham Anderson and Horace McClelland. As always, Langara Lodge owner Rick Bourne ’69, promises to treat all guests coming under the SLS banner to a good discount and a great time. ***Of some note to hockey fans, Brian Burke, General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, along with several other NHL GMs will be at Langara at the same time as the SLS/Langara Derby crew. Rick Bourne promises to seat the SLS and NHL groups together in the front lounge for a couple of meals.
