April 9 – Rugby
This past Saturday was full of rugby action for the Shawnigan Boys and Girls. The Colt B's and 2nd XV both played very well while participating in the Claremont Rugby Tournament that was held in Victoria.
The girls of Shawnigan took on defending BC AAA Champions Carson Graham in an outstanding game of rugby. Our girls showed great skill and determination in this 12 - 8 loss.
The Colt A's played against the Australian touring side Blue Mountain Grammar's second team in a 10-a-side match. The Shawnigan Colts won in convincing fashion scoring numerous trys in this wide-open game.
The feature match saw the Shawnigan 1st XV defeat Blue Mountain Grammar 34-17 in a very entertaining game of rugby.
