Roland Borsato
For Roland Borsato what matters most are family and friends. Roland is about relationships; he builds them, fosters them, is known for them and they endure.
Roland graduated from Shawnigan in 1972 and is well known to classmates as a team player and a friend who knows the values of friendship and of the Shawnigan community. Roland is very proud of Shawnigan and enthusiastically remembers his years here. A Ripley’s man, Roland was also Captain of Rowing, a 1st XV wing and a School Prefect, all of which are a testament to Shawnigan’s culture of nurturing and encouraging the development of leadership skills and athletic abilities of their students.
A vice- president of two major automotive repair companies, a teacher at the University of the Fraser Valley with respect to construction practices, an accomplished musician and chef, Roland is especially proud of his three daughters: Maria; completing her teaching degree, Andrea; a commercial pilot and Kate; considering graduate school.
Known for his sense of humour, his love of rowing, rugby and golf, Roland and his wife Louise have joined Shawnigan where Roland will assume his responsibilities of Alumni Relations in the Advancement Department.
An active supporter of the School, Roland brings to Shawnigan enthusiastic energy, an attitude of achievement, of personal responsibility and leadership. Roland is passionate about working with the Alumni to preserve and enhance the Shawnigan Family.
