3rd at ISA Championship
The Shawnigan Junior Boys basketball team competed very well at the ISA Championship in Vancouver, Jan. 13 and 14, placing third overall.

The team’s first game, against Southpointe Academy, saw Shawnigan with a 31-29 win. Defensively, the team was very strong. Ciaran B. scored 19 points to maintain the lead the entire game, while Keelin K. was named player of the game.

Shawnigan then came up again Saint Michaels University School. Shawnigan was able to shut down the SMUS offence for the first three quarters, but SMUS was able to pull ahead in the fourth, winning 47-33. Ciaran B. put up 18 points for Shawnigan, with Keelin K. and Josh T. adding 6 each. Defensively, Karsten L. and Jack N. were unbeatable, holding their checks to 2 points each, with Karsten named player of the game.

In the final matchup, Shawnigan took on Glenlyon Norfolk School. Shawnigan played without Josh, Kieran and Keelin due to other commitments, but was fortunate to add Thomas W., who made a strong contribution. The game turned out to be Shawnigan's best of the season, so far. The team came together, dug deep, and led for the entire game. Aaryan K. and Steven W. worked their post positions effectively while Ciaran B. scored 31 points. The 57-29 victory secured a third-place finish for Shawnigan.
