With Spring Break winding down, a handful of Shawnigan athletes ventured to Nanaimo for the BC Closed Junior Squash Championships.
Ryan P. had a golden performance, winning first place in the Boys under 17 division.
Matthew T. continued his strong season, meanwhile, finishing second in the Boys under 19 bracket. Nicholas L. (1-2 in Boys under 19) and Rhys B. (2-2 in Boys under 15) also showed well.
On the girls side, Zoe C. battled her way to a third-place finish in the under 19 event.
In addition to his second-place finish, Matthew T. was also honoured with Squash BC's Massey Goolden Trophy. The award is given annually to a junior player exemplifying achievement and sportsmanship. Congratulations Matthew!
