Senior Boys head to Islands

Shawnigan's Senior Boys are on their way to the Island Zone Tournament.

The boys played to a 1-2 record in the main draw of the South Island League Tournament this weekend at SMUS. That result moved the squad into Monday's decisive showdown against Gulf Islands Secondary School, with the winner claiming the fourth and final spot at Islands.

While GISS brought a physical and gritty effort to the game (again played at SMUS), Shawnigan was able to claim an 18-point victory to advance to Islands.

Shawnigan will open the Island Tournament with a matchup against host Kwalikum on Thursday.
