Grade 8 Volleyball
Central Island Champs!
Shawnigan's Grade 8 Girls Volleyball team has topped off a great season with an outstanding win in the Central Vancouver Island Championships.
The spirit shown by these 10 students has been exemplary and is a huge credit to the school. They have bonded so well as a group, and this has very tangibly transferred to the court.
The squad didn't lose a single set in Tuesday's final tournament, beating Saltspring Island, Duncan Christian School and Cowichan Secondary en route to the final, where they produced their best performance of the tournament to overcome Lake Cowichan in straight sets.
Most of these girls have had very little, if no experience in the sport, so they are to be commended for their positive attitude and willingness to learn. It was a fantastic way to finish.
