Ice Hockey: New Season
First shots on goal
This weekend, the Shawnigan Bantam Hockey Team kicked off the season with two games. The team won their first game, 8-2, against the Kerry Park Bantam Rep Team. A strong and team-played game, it was a great start to the year. Players to be recognized for their efforts include, Cody S., for scoring 3 goals, and Jacob L., for his four assists.
The second game resulted in a 6-2 loss against JDF (Juan de Fuca) Tier 1, but was a great learning experience for the young team. The team played hard and kept the game close against their experienced opponents.
The Shawnigan Varsity Hockey Team began their season with a 9-2 win against JDF Tier 2 on Sunday. The team displayed an excellent work ethic and team chemistry during the game.
Players to be recognized for their efforts include, Noah C., Triston L., and Devin W., who all scored 2 goals. Cael H., also played well in net.
