Jack Semple

A Canadian talent visits!
This week, Shawnigan students were entertained by an amazing Canadian talent, Jack Semple. Students were amazed by Semple's guitar technique and soulful voice. A few student guitarists were fortunate enough to spend some quality time with Semple and learn a few tricks of the trade.

Jack Semple, originally from Regina, began his musical career by playing with various bands in Regina. He was the lead guitarist for The Lincolns, but left after two years to pursue a solo career. Semple has released ten albums, winning a Juno award for best roots recording in 1991. He has also won two Western Canadian music awards, contributed to television and music scores, and starred in the 1994 movie, Guitarman. Today, Semple performs across Canada as a solo artist and with The Jack Semple Band.
