Midterm Tofino trip

A journey to the West Coast

As Shawnigan students enjoyed a midterm long weekend of relaxation and grad celebrations, a group of intrepid international boarders descended on Tofino for some fun on Vancouver Island's west coast.

The 23 students and four staff departed on Thursday morning, stopping for lunch in Port Alberni before arriving at the weekend's cabin accommodations in Tofino.

The itinerary for the six-day excursion included surfing and stand up paddleboard lessons, hiking, a visit to Hot Springs Cove, and plenty of time for fun and games on the beach.

The group returned home on Tuesday evening, though some are already plotting to jump back onto surfboards as soon as they can!
