Named to team Canada

Four Shawnigan students join U-18 team

Four current Shawnigan students are looking forward to playing for Canada.

Mostyn F, Carson O, Nick C, and Seth P will all leave midway through the 1st XV's tour of South Africa at Spring Break to join the Rugby Canada Under-18 squad on a tour of Ireland.

"It's a great honour and opportunity for all four of the boys selected, and in particular for Mostyn, who was named Captain," says Shawnigan Athletic Director and 1st XV Coach Tim Murdy.

"Having the opportunity to represent their country in international play will only make them better players and make Shawnigan a better team."

Shawnigan teacher/coach Ander Monro is one of the coaches for the U-18 program, while 2015 graduate James O'Neill was also named to the squad.
