Beth Hall
Few people know Shawnigan better than Beth Hall, Director of Post-Secondary Planning and House Director in School House. Beth and her husband Mark (a 1969 graduate!) have been on staff for over 30 years and their two children Evan and Carly are also Shawnigan graduates.
When she first arrived on campus, Beth was a member of the nursing staff. In the early ’90s Beth enrolled at the University of Victoria and earned a MEd in Counselling/Psychology. This degree prepared her to take on her present role helping students shape their futures. She particularly enjoys “working with students in such a positive and forward-thinking way.”
Beth’s job is quite demanding requiring her to be an expert in admissions requirements and policies for universities in Canada, the United States and often in Europe too! In the fall, she hosts university admissions officers from all of the major Canadian universities McGill, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Queen’s, etc. as well as representatives from universities in the United States including Princeton, Middlebury, Lewis & Clark, Boston University, Colgate, and Georgetown.
