Galen Loiselle

Galen began his teaching career at Shawnigan in 2003. A member of the Socials Department, he combines his passion for outdoors and travelling with teaching, drawing on his own personal experience as well as that of his students to enrich the physical and cultural studies of many countries. Two of Galen’s favourite countries are Germany and Korea, where he spent a year as an exchange student and taught ESL, respectively.

As well as teaching, Galen coaches grade 8 rowing and is involved in the round-table leadership programme (grade 8s) at the School. He is an outdoor enthusiast and has enjoyed two multi-week trips to Thailand with the Shawnigan EDGE programme.
