Rhodri Samuel

Rhod Samuel has been at Shawnigan since 1993. He is a science teacher (chemistry and biology), and Senior Master in charge of student discipline.

Rhod and his wife Gaynor (Director of Admissions) have two sons, Daf and Owen, who are both Shawnigan graduates.

Originally from Wales, Rhod came to Canada over 20 years ago and began his boarding school career at St. Michaels University School in Victoria. A sports enthusiast, Rhod has played rugby at the national level as well as cricket and track and field. A lover of tradition, many years ago Rhod introduced the Shawnigan community to, "I Hear Thy Welcome Voice," the Ripley’s House Hymn.
