Christmas on Vancouver Island was choc-a-bloc with tons of snow and freezing temperatures but our Director of Advancement, Steve Housser '67 and his family found a way to beat the snow and cold!

Calgarians! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 27th to join us at the Glencoe Club from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Headmaster David Robertson and others will be hosting a cocktail reception where alumni and parents will learn about new and exciting changes at SLS by watching a short new video titled “The Shawnigan Advantage”. The Headmaster will give an update on the School and answer questions from our guests. Appetizers and two complimentary beverages be served to our guests and a cash bar will be available.

From all of us here at Shawnigan, we wish you and your family a joyous Christmas filled with the the closeness of friends and comfort of home.

A few reminders as 2008 comes to a close and thoughts turn toward 2009. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

Dan Johnston '76 seen here in these images demonstrating his new sport. Apparently this is a great workout which is available year 'round. Steve Housser '67 will attempt this exciting new work out challenge tonight if the lake is not frozen! 

 Ryan Panton '97 (Lake's) brings his youthful enthusiasm and passion for all things Shawnigan to the Advancement Office in his new role in Alumni Relations. After completing his studies at SLS, Ryan continued his education at UBC and then BCIT. He then entered into Sales at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, the world's largest seller of new and used industrial equipment. Through all of the curveballs that life has thrown at him, however, Shawnigan remained at the forefont of his thoughts, and when the opportunity to return to the island presented itself, he leapt at it.
