Unofficial results are have come in from day one of the rowing nationals ("Schoolboys" for the old timers!):

Senior women's 4+ finish second in their heat. Ended up with second fastest time in the competition and advance to the semis tomorrow.

Senior men's lwt 4+ won their heat easily to advance to semis tomorrow.

Senior men's 4+, second in their heat and advance to the semis tomorrow.

Junior girls 4+ won their heat and advance to the semis tomorrow.

Senior men's lwt 1X , second in his heat and advance to the semis tomorrow.

 . Shawnigan had a convincing win against St. George's (52-0) yesterday afternoon at the Provincial Rugby Championships at UBC. Today they play in the semi-finals against St. Michaels University School; kick-off is at 5:30pm at Thunderbird Stadium at UBC. We are very pleased to report that the Girls 1st XV advanced to the U18 BC Provincial Championship finals. Kick-off is at noon on Saturday, May 24th at the Capilano Rugby Club (Klahanie Park) in North Vancouver. The Boys 1st XV play their first game of the Provincial Championships against Fleetwood Park at Brentwood College School on Saturday, May 24th, kick-off is at 1:30pm. The quarter finals resume on Wednesday at the University of British Columbia.

We are in the midst of another great year of support for the Annual Fund. Members of the Shawnigan community are sharing in helping our School be the best it can through their gifts, in record numbers. To date we have raised $755,000 and are on pace for a record number of gifts from alumni. We hope that you will all consider a gift - the amount matters far less than your participation. Many of you took part in last year's alumni challenge by the graduating class - giving any amount that represented your grad year - $19.75 for class of '75 alumni, for example.
