Shawnigan Prep

The Shawnigan Preparatory Program, or "Prep," is an innovative academic curriculum built specifically to prepare international students for a thriving career at Shawnigan Lake School and beyond.

Created in 2011 on the premise that quality students were being turned away from Shawnigan based on their language skills, the program's mission is to help students build confidence in language, character and personality. An intensive grammar and composition component ensures students attain the levels needed for success in the School.

The Prep House is home to eight boys and eight girls from Iran, Vietnam, China and Japan.

For additional information on this unique program, please contact Julia Pollock in the Admissions Office at jspollock@shawnigan.ca.

"I started working at Shawnigan in 2013. As the head of Prep School Programming, I support students that need help with English. I love unique challenges, and this is not like anything I have ever seen before. It is a dream situation - building language skills in a one year program with a small group of kids. My passion lies in connecting kids to something, and everyday I get to connect kids to each other, to something they care about, to the world, to their environment, to whatever it may be.
