A Celebration Honouring E.R. (Ned) Larsen), including a Special Chapel Service & Official Dedication of the E.R. (Ned) Larsen Squash Centre
Saturday, May 23, 2026
We hope you can join us to honour the legacy of Shawnigan’s third Headmaster, E.R. (Ned) Larsen ’43 (Groves’). Ned dedicated much of his life to Shawnigan Lake School, initially as student Head of School in 1942-43, then as Housemaster and Senior Master from 1948-58, and eventually as Headmaster from 1958-67.
A decorated athlete, Ned earned University of Oxford Blues (colours) in squash, badminton, and basketball. He radiated vitality and zest for life, and positively impacted the School's classrooms, boarding houses, and playing fields. Ned was the epitome of a Shawnigan all-rounder, and his positive influence continues to be felt today by all students engaged on their Shawnigan Journey.
We look forward to celebrating Ned’s legacy with his family and friends, and the entire Shawnigan community.
