Writing can be a solitary pursuit, but members of Mr. Connolly’s Writing 12 class have recently collaborated to produce multi-voice performance poems. They gather as a group one evening per week to share stories, poetry, and memoirs. Mr. Connolly instructs them on character development, plot construction, and a number of other technical aspects of writing. "In our Zoom classes," he says, "I often leave them to collaborate. I'd like to think they learn as much from problem solving together as they pick up from me."
Recently, the group turned its attention to performance poetry. Over the course of two classes, they wrote, edited, arranged, and recorded their first effort, "Love." Please enjoy this unique performance piece by Shawnigan’s Writing 12 class.
