Rebranding the co-curricular program
Morgan McLeod, Director of 360 and Head of Fine Art, shares why co-curricular Arts & Activities has been re-branded as 360 and what this re-branding signifies.

“Arts & Activities has been better known for decades by something of a misnomer: ‘Fine Arts,’” Mr. McLeod explains. “However, with the new timetable implementation, curricular Fine Arts have become firmly entrenched in the daily class schedule, where they rightly belong. In addition, the after school co-curricular program has grown beyond its previous “Fine Arts” confines to encompass activities that are not just arts-based.

Because of this shift of fine arts subjects into the curricular day and the growth of the co-curricular program beyond arts-based offerings, it became apparent that it was important to re-brand the program for greater clarity and distinction. For staff and students at Shawnigan, the after school 360 program will encapsulate, enrich, and extend offerings from around the School and allows us to broaden our teaching and learning horizons by offering new co-curricular opportunities for exploration and discovery.”
