The Junior ISA tournament was held at Shawnigan this year, and we were so fortunate to play on the new water-based turf. The hockey this year was of a high standard. Shawnigan Junior A team won the tournament, beating our nemesis Collingwood in a heated final. We won 1-0 in the nail-biting game. The team deserved to take home the gold medal and, as a coach, I have never been so proud of a team and their passion for the game as well as for each other.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
