  • Jacqueline Flett, Chair

Jacqueline is an alumna of Shawnigan Lake School, graduating in 1997 (Groves’). Born in Vanderhoof, BC, and having lived in various places throughout the province her entire life, she is a true west coaster. She studied History and Philosophy at the University College of the Cariboo (predecessor to Thompson Rivers University), graduating with a B.A. in 2001. Jacqueline was awarded an LLB from the University of British Columbia in 2004 and was called to the Bar of the Province of British Columbia in 2005.

After working as a general solicitor at a prominent downtown Vancouver law firm for six years, in 2011, Jacqueline founded Flett Law, a forward-thinking law firm focused on value and fixed-fee billing, and leveraging technology to make legal services accessible and cost-effective for all clients. In 2021 Flett Law merged with Breakwater Law, and Jacqueline now operates out of Victoria, BC. Jacqueline acts as a trusted business advisor to private companies and professionals in a variety of industries.

Since 2016, Jacqueline has also been a Director of The Ghost CEOTM, North America’s leader in business development coaching. In this role, Jacqueline is responsible for strategic planning, and oversight of The Ghost CEOTM’s legal and accounting professional practice within North America. She specializes in designing, developing, and delivering leadership and sales training to legal and accounting professionals who excel at what they do, but don’t know how to talk about it.

Jacqueline’s love for Shawnigan runs deep, and she has dedicated her time on the Board to ensuring the School is financially accessible to more families, having depended on financial aid for her own attendance at Shawnigan.

Jacqueline is a full-time chauffeur and social secretary to her two busy children: Willam and Julia. In her spare time, Jacqueline runs slowly, dances often (but not well), and loves planning and taking ambitious trips to far-flung locations with her husband, Chris.

We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
