Be part of the celebration

Leading young people in the pursuit of personal excellence is the highest of callings.

In 1916, in the middle of a secluded rainforest on Vancouver Island, C.W. Lonsdale answered that call. Even in its most humble beginnings, Mr. Lonsdale envisioned a school that would develop young people of character through the development of the complete person.

100 years later, our founder's vision endures.

The Centennial is more than just a celebration of the past. It is also a defining moment in determining how Shawnigan will move forward. As the School celebrates its 100th birthday, we are committed to developing the skills students need to meet and exceed the challenges of the 21st century.

Now is the time when our community can secure Mr. Lonsdale's vision for the next 100 years and beyond. The Shawnigan Centennial is an invitation for you to become part of that legacy.

Centennial Pathway

The Centennial Pathway initiative is your opportunity to leave your mark on this campus forever.
In recognition of your gift of $25,000 to the Learning Commons project, you will be honoured with a stone on the Centennial Pathway.
Celebrate your unique connection with Shawnigan and ensure its success for our next 100 years and beyond.
Pledges for this unique opportunity can be spread over five years and each gift is tax-deductible. Depending on the way you choose to fulfill your pledge and the number of friends and classmates you get involved, the cost to you can be as little as pennies per day.

The pathway leads up from the road to the main door of the Main Building. Stone locations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and can commemorate an individual, a House year or a graduating class year. This is your opportunity to be part of an exclusive group of supporters.

To choose your plaque location, wording and payment options, please contact Rudy Massimo, Director of External Relations and Advancement, at 250-743-6290 or email rmassimo@shawnigan.ca. Be sure to include "Centennial Pathway" in the subject line.
