The Headmaster's Gala

Celebrating David Roberton's service

On Saturday evening, members of the Shawnigan community gathered to celebrate David and Lynn Robertson's many years of service to the School.

Highlights from the evening included a musical performance by Ken Lavigne and Shannon Tyrrell as well as a compilation of ABBA hits by the Shawnigan chamber choir. As well, the audience heard heartfelt speeches from Struan Robertson and former Chairman of the Board, Bob Murdoch.

The elegant evening was held at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, with revelry continuing late into the night.

As part of the festivities, a new scholarship was unveiled to honour the Robertsons' 25 years of leadership. By the end of the evening, thanks to the Gala dinner and auction spearheaded by Kathryn Shaw, $1.36 million had been raised for the Robertson Family Scholarship Fund.
