Cowichan District Hospital Foundation

A community fundraising gala
Shawnigan was delighted to play host once again to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation 2018 Champagne Dinner & Auction on April 21, with Marion Hall dedicated to the black-tie event.

Since its inception in 1989, the annual gala has grown to be the Cowichan Valley’s premier fundraising event, with guests bidding through silent and live auctions during a fun-filled evening.

For the past few years, the event has taken place on campus, with Shawnigan students and staff contributing as musical entertainers and servers and our catering services planning a sumptuous but cost-effective meal to ensure the charity benefits as much as it can from the evening’s fundraising activities.

At Saturday’s gala, Foundation Executive Chair Alison Taylor announced a further $1-million donation towards the construction of a 10-bed palliative care hospice in Duncan.
