DELF results

Positive returns for Shawnigan linguists

French students at Shawnigan are receiving positive results from the latest round of DELF exams.

The Diplome d'etudes en langue francais (DELF) is a language proficiency course certified by the European Commission and delivered by France's Ministry of Education.

In early May, roughly one third of the student body sat these exams, ranging from the beginner (A1) to the more advanced (B2) level.

DELF supervisor Jean-Jacques Receveaux says incoming results confirm that the overwhelming majority of students successfully passed their exams, with all 20 B2 candidates proving successful.

"We've had great feedback from the kids, and lots of them are already hungry to attempt the next level," Mr. Reveveaux shares. "It's nice to see the kids so engaged."

Shawnigan runs more DELF exams than any other school in the Province, with only the entire Surrey School District providing more certifications. Mr. Receveaux, however, is keen to grow the program further, aspiring to earn more accreditation for examiners in the near future.
