Shawnigan Summer

Day 13: Saturday, July 28

Theatre trip and closing ceremony

In a wonderful and active-packed final day, we went to the Chemanius Theatre to watch the children’s play “The Little Prince.” Following the performance, the group enjoyed an outing to town to buy some souvenirs and, crucially on such a hot day, ice cream!

Back on campus, the students enjoyed a pizza party and a Fine Art Showcase, where they saw a band performance, listened to a mixed recording, and watched the lip dub that the students have been working on for the past two weeks with performing arts teacher Mrs. McLeod.

Finally, to celebrate all the hard work the students have committed to the program over the past two weeks, we enjoyed a ceremony in Kaye Gardens where Senior Master Rhodri Samuel gave each student his or her “graduation” certificate.

Thank you to everyone—teachers and students—for making the first Shawnigan Lake School English Plus Summer program such a resounding success!
