Terry Fox Run

Terry's spirit lives on

High spirits pushed away the rain, as the Shawnigan community gathered for Sunday's Terry Fox Run.

An annual tradition, this year's event was promoted by the School's prefect group, who visited boarding houses on Friday to share Terry Fox's story with their peers.

That message was amplified during Saturday's chapel service, with Headmaster Larry Lamont suggesting that the 1980 Marathon of Hope "serves as a reminder of the courage within all of us."

As usual, the event brought out all students plus a majority of Shawnigan staff, with everyone wearing red and white clothing for the non-competitive 3.5 km circuit.

This year's fundraising efforts generated upwards of $1,000, to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.

The following video was produced by Grade 12 student Byron C. on behalf of Shawnigan Film Arts.
