Prep Rafting Trip

A rapid welcome to BC

The Shawnigan Prep School tested some of the Province's wildest waters in a recent rafting trip to Lytton B.C.

Fifteen students and four staff ventured to the B.C. Interior, Thursday to Saturday, for an experiential learning exercise and team-building opportunity.

After camping on the banks of the Thompson River on Thursday, they joined Hyak River Rafting for a four-hour float down some of the region's major rapids.

Shawnigan outdoors teacher Kelsey McDaniel, a former Hyak guide himself, escorted the four brave teachers in a self-powered paddle boat, while the students enjoyed the ride in the comfort of a motorized catamaran.

Invigorated and exhausted, the group enjoyed a quick shopping trip in Vancouver on the way home on Saturday.
