Cross Country on Campus
A new series takes shape
Nearly 100 students raced around Shawnigan's roads and trails in a new cross-country event on Tuesday.
Hosted as part of a new cross-country series, the race saw athletes from Shawnigan, Brentwood, Quamichan, Frances Kelsey, Queen Margaret's, and L'Ecole Cobble Hill competing in 4 and 6 km distances.
Lauren L. led all female athletes, finishing first in the senior girls' division, while Abby D. placed second in the junior girls' event. Peter S. led Shawnigan boys with a 5th-place showing among junior boys.
The new series began with a race last Tuesday at the Glenora Trails (hosted by QMS), and will continue with an event at Bright Angel Park following the Thanksgiving weekend.
