All about Heart

A heart-lifting service

This year’s combined Lake’s and Strathcona House chapel presentation, originally set for Valentine's Day, was postponed due to an un-scheduled winter storm. Undeterred by the cold front, the students produced a heart-warming service two days later.

Heads of Houses Tolani A. and Markus B. orchestrated a service filled with speeches, readings and musical numbers designed to tug at heart strings, and to demonstrate the kind of love felt amongst friends who live, laugh, and struggle through adolescence together.

"Love does not only exist through affection," Tolani told her peers in her address. "Love involves a combination of other emotions, like gratitude, joy, appreciation, forgiveness, selflessness, and care."

Staff and students alike wiped away tears at several points during the service in recognition of the courageous and heartfelt offerings.
