Academic Colours

Shawnigan's standout students

Classroom standouts received their kudos on Thursday, as Academic Colours were presented to deserving students.

In presenting the awards, Wendy Milne (Assistant Head – Academics) urged students to maintain their commitment to academics while also embracing an array of challenges outside of the classroom.

To demonstrate how much is on the horizon, Mrs. Milne listed a plethora of upcoming events – ranging from cultural exchanges to sporting events to the CAIS Leadership conference, DELF and AP exams, to the school musical – asking students to stand for those they're involved in. She quickly engaged the vast majority of the school population, applauding them and also stressing, "Don't forget your academics!"

Mrs. Milne also invited visiting Civil Engineer Ruddy Ndina to offer some final words of inspiration and encouragement. "There is no secret to success," he said, "There's only a system to success. Keep learning, keep growing, be limitless, and never settle for less."
