Springing Into Exam Season

Academics on point
Spring brings a surge of fresh air and optimism to campus – perfectly timed as Shawnigan students refocus on academics and prepare for the beginning of exam season.

In January, the AP English class wrote the English 12 provincial exam, while the rest of the Grade 12 class wrote a mock exam in preparation. This week, those Grade 12 students wrote their English 12 provincial exam – the last-ever as BC moves to a literacy assessment in 2020. The English 12 exam counts for 40% of students’ final English mark.

Mid-May, the AP classes will write their exams. Administrated by The College Board, AP exams are designed to replicate first-year courses at university, giving advanced students a leg up in their post-secondary careers.

After a short break in the exam schedule, allowing students time to refocus and concentrate, the school will then head into final exams mid-June.

Good luck to all of our students!
