Run for the Cure

Running in pink
A strong Shawnigan presence continues to support the fight against breast cancer.

Sunday saw the CIBC Run for the Cure make its annual return to the University of Victoria, with thousands of participants enthusiastically pledging funds and support.

Four houses full of students got up early and ventured to UVic for this year’s walk/run. Although rain threatened, the event was packed with survivors and supporters from all over Vancouver Island, and they shed layers of long sleeves and jackets over the five kilometers.

This annual event continues to be an important fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society and Shawnigan students and staff were honored to participate once again.
