Competition restarts in the New Year
It’s just a few days into the new term, but many of our sports teams have already jumped back into competition.

The Midget Prep ice hockey team played a home game against Victoria-based Pacific Coast Hockey Academy on January 5, the first night back this term. The boys clearly had no rust to shake off after the winter break and won the game in a convincing fashion, ending with a 5-0 final score.

Coach Mr. Yorath shares, “The Junior Boys basketball team started league play on Tuesday with a 50-46 win over Frances Kelsey Secondary School. Jack M. led the way with 23 points, while Jeremy H. scored 11, and Gabe A. added 10.” The Junior Boys and Junior B/Grade 9 Boys basketball teams next traveled to Brentwood College School on Thursday, where they played two tight games against Brentwood teams.

The Junior Girls basketball team played a strong game against visiting Gulf Islands Secondary School on Tuesday afternoon, coming out with a solid win. “They just killed it!” enthused coach Mrs. Brown.

Congratulations to all of our athletes for an excellent start to term!
