Dean’s Dinner

Recognizing effort and dedication
Shawnigan’s most dedicated students were recognized with a magnificent meal on Tuesday night as Mrs. Milne, Assistant Head – Academics and Mr. Lamont, Headmaster, hosted Dean’s Dinner in Marion Hall. Dean’s Dinner is a longstanding Shawnigan tradition that acknowledges students who have earned an average effort score of 1.5 or lower during an assessment period. This was the first of three Dean’s Dinners this school year, with 245 students in attendance thanks to their outstanding effort in either their October or December assessments.

Our kitchen team put in a spectacular effort of their own, treating students to a truly wonderful meal. The homemade ice cream sandwiches were a particular hit!

Before the meal began, we had the opportunity to hear from Michael R. and Kate S., two of the five Shawnigan students who attended the Japan Super Science Fair in November. They shared about their science projects, the process of preparing for the fair, and their experience in Japan. “Despite the challenges we faced along the way, both the scientific and individual growth that we experienced due to this trip were exponential,” shared Kate.

Congratulations to all!
