Rugby Tour - Girls

Day 3: Whitianga

Since we got to New Zealand, it has been a surreal experience. It was my first big trip with Shawnigan, and I am already so grateful for the experience. We travelled from Auckland to Whitianga where we stayed with billet families.

At first, I was very nervous to stay with people I had never met, but they welcomed us so warmly. We went to Simpson’s beach where there was warm blue ocean, sandy beaches and big waves. When we got back, be had a barbecue and went out on the town. They showed us around the docks and the different stores, then we came home and cheered on their rugby team on the tv.

I can’t explain how grateful I am for the opportunity to come here and I plan to take full advantage of the trip. I’ve branded out and connected with new people in the short two days that we’ve been here and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the trip will hold for our team.
