EDGE Tour - Costa Rica

Interview with Esteban

Esteban grew up in a nice, relatively quiet neighbourhood near the Airport in San José, Costa Rica, along with his parents and 5 siblings. As his father worked many hours in the local hospital, Esteban and his friends, siblings, and cousins spent a lot of time outside play football and other games.
At the end of his high school career, Esteban’s father proclaimed to him that he would support him in any field he chose to study, however, seeing how hard his father was working to provide for their large family, Esteban felt motivated to start work right away to aid his father and family as much as he could, starting his first job as a delivery guy for a pharmaceutical company.

He later worked as a private taxi driver, while looking for a larger job for one year, eventually finding an opportunity for a job at a large costa rican company, the only problem being that it was quite far from his home and family. One of his friends noticed the unconveneice of the job, and quickly introduced him to the opportunity of being a receptionist. He then switched to being a receptionist at a place close to home, and continued to work there for 5 years.

This job led to the fate of meeting Mr. Klassen, where they both share the same passion for mountain biking. Since then, they became really close friends and would bike together whenever they get the chance. Mr. Klassen also connected Lozzy and Esteban, which kickstarted the Edge Costa Rica program last year in 2019. The connections between all of them is what makes friendships so special and important.

Esteban is trying to learn the guitar, and he wishes to know how to play a few songs by the end of this year. He values and treasures his family the most, and it is what motivates him to work hard and be happy in his everyday life. - Chelsie and Kathleen
