Creativity for the SOUL

Weekly art challenges
As visual arts and design teacher Vikki Agate notes on her class website, “The EARTH without ART is just ‘eh’.”

To encourage those looking for fresh artistic inspiration or a new creative outlet, Ms. Agate has opened up her class website for students and staff who are not in her current art classes. Each week she posts one or two exciting art challenges with a link to post creations, see other people’s work, and make comments on each post.

Challenges to date have ranged from developing a personal artistic expression of what love looks like, to recreating of a famous piece of art from the Getty Museum’s collection using household items, to styling Insta-worthy plates of food art.

Participants can either simply complete the challenges on their own or share to Ms. Agate’s website for other participants to see. Her website also has a comprehensive art resources page for anyone looking to further explore a particular medium.

If you are interested in joining Ms. Agate on her weekly art adventures, please watch this video tutorial and sign up for access to the weekly challenges, online forum and more.
