Prefect Team Building

A campus retreat
Each year, Shawnigan’s School Prefects gather together as a group to build upon their connections and mutual sense of purpose with a team building camp out. This year, this event was reimagined in a way that fit within COVID safety protocols and allowed the Grade 12 group to make some special memories at Shawnigan’s newly designated “Camp Yates,” a forested area of campus designed to provide a wilderness experience in the School’s own backyard.

Working with Outdoors Coordinator Eric MacDonald and Search & Rescue instructor Kelsey McDaniel, the prefect group enjoyed a fun-filled and productive team building session reflecting on how the year has gone so far, enjoying some collaborative activities and developing a shared vision for the year ahead.

Shawnigan Lake School is adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines released by the BC Ministries of Health and Education, including those regarding learning cohorts, physical distancing and mask-wearing when appropriate.
