A Positive Start

Uplifting words from a School Prefect
Shawnigan students and staff are now back on campus together following a week of SOUL (Shawnigan Online Unique Learning) to start the new calendar year. As our community’s thoughts turned to re-engaging in campus life at the end of last week, School Prefect Finn R. helped to set the tone for the second part of our academic year in an uplifting video for the whole School.

“This year is unlike any other year because of COVID and all the uncertainty that surrounds it,” he began. “With that being said, we’re still going to have fun on campus!”

Finn went on to remind the whole School – both students and staff – that “what you practice grows stronger,” proposing that we as a School “practice” three key things over the next five months: thankfulness, thoughtfulness and optimism.

In a world of such uncertainty, we are encouraged to know that our students are meeting each new challenge with positivity, finding hope every day, and leading the way forward for us all.
