Legally Blonde the Musical
Shawnigan’s musical theatre cast and crew have been busy preparing for their upcoming production of Legally Blonde the Musical. A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!
Director of Music Shannon Tyrrell shares, “Legally Blonde has been on my musical-director bucket list since the moment I first watched it. The show is non-stop fun, and the music is both uplifting and heartwarming. The show’s message of staying true to oneself while on the road to self-discovery is an important one for today’s youth. I love, love, love this show and I know the audiences will too!”
This year’s production is particularly meaningful as the musical theatre team was mere weeks away from performing Legally Blonde back in 2020 before it was cancelled due to the pandemic. The 2022 cast includes several returning actors as well as siblings of 2020 cast members.
