SOUL Seeking Fair 2022

Students at the School have spent the last six months exploring what they are passionate about and turning it into a project of discovery. Now the third and final SOUL Seeking week has come for students at Shawnigan to finalize these projects in preparation for the final presentations they will deliver during the SOUL Seeking Fair, taking place this Friday and next. These presentations require students to delve into a topic of their choice and demonstrate not only what their project is about, but how they got there and why. All students and faculty will attend the fair and vote on their favourite projects, with the vote criteria looking for the projects that are the most inspiring, creative and passionate. Ten finalists will be determined based on the votes from their peers and advisors, with those selected taking part in the final SOUL Seeking Showcase being held in the Friesen Centre in early May.
Through dedicated SOUL Seeking time incorporated into the timetable, along with mentor hubs and school resources made available to support their work, students had the opportunity to dive deeper into their passions throughout the year. With few limits on the subject matter – whether it is a personal or academic interest – the variety of topics covered is extensive. The personal and academic growth gained from working on projects like this is important and the meaningful connections that are made while exploring their topic will have a long-lasting impact. With a well-rounded staff who bring a variety of hobbies and skills to the table, paired with a campus with so much to offer, there is no lack of inspiration or support for the students.

The projects are nothing short of impressive and are sure to make an impression on those who get the time to enjoy them. From the arts and sciences to athletics and everything in between, there is a topic that will interest everyone.
