Elite squash competition in Victoria
Shawnigan athletes earned strong finishes against some of the top players in the country, at this weekend's Pacific Northwest Squash Tournament in Victoria.
Leading the way, Grade 12 standout Ryan P. scored a terrific victory over top-ranked Niagara Falls product Akasham R. in the semifinal of the boys under-19 event (winning the fifth game 16-14), before a four-set loss to Calgary's Brett S. in the final.
Other strong results included Alan L. winning the consolation draw of the boys U-15 B division, and Thomas D. narrowly edging teammate Will J. in the boys U-17 B consolation draw.
Carolina M. placed third in the girls U-17 B division.
