Basketball boys go south

Reflections on a California tour

The senior boys basketball team had a great trip to California.

During our five games, we were in tough and pushed to our limits by some of the best teams in the state. In our first game we played Taft, who were very strong and had a University of Virginia commit at point guard. The second game came against Crossroads, another very strong team. Third came Windward, a team boasting a very talented player who is committed to play at UCLA next season. The penultimate game was played against St. Monica, the host school. Finally, on Friday we played Executive Prep, in what was our strongest performance of the tournament, showing good heart against a talented team.

The squad also managed to fit some fun in on the trip, going to Muscle Beach, as well as having a morning practice on the outdoor basketball courts at Venice Beach. We also managed to see a UCLA basketball game, as well as an LA Clippers basketball game, which was a great experience as it exposed us to a higher level of play.

The team would like to thank Mr. Robertson for the wonderful opportunity to go on this trip.
