Colt A & B Rugby

Solid win over Brentwood!
This past weekend, the Colt A team played arch rival Brentwood College School.  The Shawnigan boys made the most of the beautiful sunny weather and moved the ball with skill and determination.  The backs were able to utilize holes created by the forward pack which resulted in some great tries being scored.  Mostyn F. (captain) had an outstanding game as he scored four tries from his position at inside centre.  Most impressive was the support off the ball as the Shawnigan boys had many "off-load" situations which exhausted the Brentwood defense.  The Colt A's played one half with the team scoring eight tries to one; the Colt B's played the second half and found success as well.

The Colt B team took the field against Brentwood at half-time and kept the momentum going that the Colt A's created in the first half. The boys played expansive rugby and their support to the ball carrier is improving immensely. Jonny H. was a stand-out at fly-half and Cole D. was also very effective in open play. The boys scored some very nice tries and should be proud of how they played.

The next match for the Colt B team is against the Sooke School District on Thursday April 24th at SLS (3:30pm kick off).

Hope to see you on the sidelines!
