On Founder's Day, Shawnigan hosted the first-ever Shawnigan/Brentwood Duel Race. First, spectators watched as we christened the "Kip McDaniel." Kip McDaniel '00 rowed at Shawnigan and then continued his career at Harvard and Cambridge, and also competed with the Canadian National team. After the Brentwood girls stormed around the course and won their race in impressive fashion, Shawnigan's boys returned the favour. The final race saw a seasoned SLS Alumni boat defeat a gritty crew from Brentwood. All in attendance agreed that this was a great new addition to the Founder's Day celebrations!
