French Exchange

Renewing friendships with Angers, France.

For the past four years, Shawnigan Lake School has been fortunate to develop an exchange program with Le Lycée Sacré Coeur from Angers, France. Students from both schools have had the opportunity to visit the other country, to put into practice the language they have been learning in class, to experience another culture, and to make friendships from across the world.

During the past two weeks, our French visitors have been totally immersed in our life here. They have lived in our residences, shadowed our students to class, and participated in a rich and diverse program of cultural activities.

The group wrapped up its exchange by presenting in Saturday's Chapel service. The students spoke about their about their experiences and sang several beautiful songs in different languages.

They have been excellent guests and have made the most of this opportunity to broaden their and our cultural understanding. We congratulate them and look forward to our visit to Angers next year.
