More images from Nigel Mayes
Here is the second set of images taken from the observatory last week. One is a combination of red, green and blue filters to make a true colour image. The other uses narrow band emission from hydrogen (green), oxygen (blue) and sulfur (red) to form a false colour image. This is an amazing way to map out the concentration of different gasses in a nebula. They are both of M27, the Dumbbell Nebula. These were single 35 second exposures with each filter.
