Tournament Champions
Shawnigan took seven teams to Gladstone Secondary for a 50 team event. Six Shawnigan teams earned a spot in the 24 team final and Parker H./Oliver G. and Damian P./Claudio C. came through as tournament champions. The most exciting match occurred during the championship round. Our group scored a total of 96 points – a BC record and a jaw dropping, inspiring match.

Participants: Claudio C., Gavin C., Oliver G., Parker H., Damian P., Frank G., Jax E., Jon Y., Mai J., Andrey P. and Kirby M.

Despite the plethora of trophies we have won this year, it is actually quite difficult to win these trophies at tournaments. We have been blessed with some outstanding student leadership from both seniors and juniors that has generated amazing teamwork, and has resulted in some incredible performances.

Our four awards were for:
Tournament Champions - Parker/Oliver
Tournament Champions - Damian/Claudio
Programming skills - Damian/Claudio
Amaze Award - Damian/Claudio

We have one more regular season tournament this weekend in Comox. After this, five of our teams will be preparing for the Provincial championships and this will hopefully be followed by some of our teams earning a coveted invitation to the World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
